Taking that first step can feel like the hardest part. If you're thinking about getting in touch, please do. I'd love to hear from you.
Before we begin, I offer a free 20-minute call. It's an informal chat, a chance for you to share a little about what's brought you here, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for whether working together feels right. No commitment, no pressure.
Person-centred counselling puts you at the heart of everything. I won't tell you what to do or how to feel, and I won't arrive with a fixed plan. Instead, I follow your lead, at your pace, in whatever direction feels right for you. It's your process. I'm here to support it.
Trauma has a way of shaping how we experience the world, often in ways we don't immediately recognise. Working in a trauma-informed way means I'm always mindful of that. Safety, trust, and choice aren't just words here. They're built into how every session feels.

I work with counselling clients face to face in Lerwick and online, so wherever you are, we can find a way to work together. Online sessions are just as personal and just as effective, and for many people they're simply more practical. Sessions are usually weekly and last one hour. What matters most is that you feel comfortable, wherever that is.
People seek professional support for all sorts of reasons, such as anxiety, depression, grief or loss. The longer, quieter impact of trauma or domestic abuse. The specific pain of birth trauma, something I've stayed close to through my continuing work with the Birth Trauma Association. I work with people who feel stuck in patterns they can't shift, overwhelmed by things they can't quite explain, or simply not themselves anymore. I warmly welcome neurodivergent individuals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. There are no expectations or prerequisites to accessing my services, just space for whatever matters most to you.
Nature therapy is something a little different. It's not counselling, but it is therapeutic. Working outdoors or indoors with the natural world as a guide, these sessions offer a chance to slow down, build resilience, and reconnect with yourself through grounding, mindful walks and nature-based expressive arts. Sessions run weekly or fortnightly and can be tailored to your needs over four to six sessions. I can also put together a personalised nature-based wellbeing plan to support you beyond our time together.
These are structured, facilitated sessions in nature, designed for workplaces, community groups, recovery groups, carers and more. Each session is shaped around the group, built from a mix of individual and group activities that are always invitational. Nobody is pushed. Groups of up to eight people can expect sessions of around 90 to 120 minutes, though these can be extended depending on what the group needs. It's a particularly supportive environment for neurodiverse or overwhelmed staff, and everything is underpinned by trauma-informed practice throughout.
Sessions for larger groups can be arranged where appropriate.
Whether you have questions or you're ready to book your free initial consultation, I'd love to hear from you. Getting in touch is simple, and there's no obligation at all.
Thank you for being here. Reaching out takes courage, and I'm really glad you did. Whether you have questions, want to find out more, or you're ready to book your free initial consultation, I'd love to hear from you.
