I'm a registered MBACP counsellor and nature therapist based in Shetland. For the past 20 years I've been drawn to caring roles, working alongside care-experienced children and young people, adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, and spending several years as a domestic abuse advocate for women and their children in some genuinely difficult situations. Community and social justice, voluntary work, and peer support at the Birth Trauma Association have all been part of that journey too.

Warmth and compassion aren't just professional values for me, they're just who I am. I want you to come as you are, not with a polished version of your problems or a worry that you're too much. You're not. Everyone who walks through my door deserves to feel accepted and met exactly where they're at, and that's something I hold onto in every session, whether we're working together in person or online.

Nature sits at the centre of my life as much as my practice. Living in Shetland, I'm out in it almost every day, and the wildness and beauty of this place never stops doing something to me. I've seen it work on other people too. There's something about being in nature that quiets the nervous system in a way that's hard to explain but easy to feel. My nature therapy work isn't about hiking or physical challenge. It's gentler than that. It's about slowing down, noticing the world around you, and letting nature offer what it's always quietly offered, if we give it the chance.
